We’re opening our doors and inviting you to be part of an interactive studio installation. We’ll be producing a large format, 5 colour, art edition of 20 prints, live! The level of participation is up to you. Enjoy a fly on the wall experience whereby you’re able to see and understand the working of a silk screen print studio and what kind of detail goes into the making of art prints. Or step forward and further your understanding by trying out the process with us, asking questions and even hand finishing a print to keep as your own.
The artwork for this print (to your right) has been deisgned to give us the opportunity to demonstrate to you techniques such as photographic halftone-rendered imagery and transparent overlays, just a couple of the many different possible techiques used while print making.
The idea behind the graphics comes from the premise of our aim for this project, “an interactive studio installation”. And how sometimes, but not always, we become aware that the seals off our coast look upon us on the shore in the same way.

11.00 – 13.00 / Set up and printing of Layer 1
13.00 – 14.30 / Screen cleaning, screen coating and screen exposure of Layer 2
15.00 – 18.00 / Set up and printing of Layer 2, including a second colour variation.
