CMYK Self-Portrait

I decided to print a photographic self-portrait just for fun — maybe to work on top of by hand, maybe not. We’ll see.
I chose a self-portrait simply because I don’t currently have any photos or portraits of others to work with, and I thought — why not, just this once, photograph myself instead?
I love working in large format, and I love CMYK screen printing. Even after 15 years of printing, it still feels magical to see a full-colour image come together through just four layers.
Along the way, I discovered a moiré effect using a transparency over the print (seen in the video), which was kind of cool. I usually spend a lot of time avoiding the dreaded moiré, but maybe it’s time to embrace it — to print intentional moirés instead.
Sounds like a possible next personal project…
